In Class 1, the children have been working hard on developing their listening and descriptive skills through the much-loved story The Gruffalo. They have really enjoyed exploring the characters and settings, using vocabulary to describe what they could see and hear in the story.
They have also been practicing their sequencing skills, carefully putting the events of the tale into the correct order and confidently retelling the story in their own words. It was wonderful to see them remembering key details and adding their own expressions and actions to bring the story to life.
This activity has not only helped them with their storytelling, but it has also encouraged the children to think about how stories are structured and how important listening is when sharing ideas with each other. Everyone did a fantastic job – well done, Class 1!
