“We aim to send all young people into an ever-changing world able and qualified to play their full part in it.”

Eco Council

At Foljambe Primary we are committed to playing our part in protecting our planet and making our learning environment a lovely colourful place to be.

What we do

Over the coming year we will be discussing how we can recycle, reduce waste and reduce our carbon footprint. We also want to help the bee population flourish with planting lots of plants the bees, butterflies and other insects love.

The Eco Council is made up of pupils from throughout school and we meet at least one every half term to discuss our next project and to enlist the help from the other willing pupils.
At the moment we are looking at brightening up our school as the winter months draw closer. We have had a kind donation of some spring bulbs from Thompson and Morgan so we are really looking forward to seeing how they will look come spring.

Over the winter months we will look at ways we can reduce our waste and recycle more. Then, as spring approaches we hope to grow our own fruit and vegetables and lots of bee friendly flowers.

Why do we have an eco council?

  • To ensure our school is eco-friendly and prepares pupils to live with reflection of the environment.
  • To discuss and raise issues related to the environment.
