British Science Week

During the last week of term, Foljambe celebrated British Science Week with a whole school assembly to introduce this year’s theme of ‘Change and Adapt.’ The children learnt that living things can adapt to their environment, and how this helps with their survival. They then read the book Moth, watched an educational video, and discussed evolution.

Each child was then given a copy of a paper moth, chose a habitat on the school grounds, and coloured their moth to show it had adapted to its environment. Once this task was complete, everyone placed their moths in their habitat ready for the predators to arrive (Mrs Heydon and Miss Pearson). The moths that survived had adapted to their environment well, and the winning class were awarded a prize. Teachers also looked out for a Super Scientist for the week, where certificates were given and prizes won.

Well done everyone!
