Reading Activities in Y6

What an exciting start to Y6’s new book, Holes by Louis Sachar! Pupils dove straight into the action with an exciting drama activity. Mrs Lloyd stepped into the role of Stanley Yelnats, while two brave pupils took on the roles of the strict Wardens. In a tense moment, Stanley managed to secretly pass a letter intended for his parents right under the Wardens’ watchful eyes!

Afterwards, the class brought the letter to life through text mapping, helping pupils to explore the story in more detail and deepen their understanding. It was great fun, and every child was fully engaged throughout. They can’t wait to see where this fantastic story takes them over the coming weeks!
