Foljambe pupils are Scientists!

Foljambe Primary were successful in our application for a Kickstart grant to support our celebration of British Science Week (8th -17th March). This grant helped us to really engage children in exciting Science activities in addition to our usual curriculum offer.

The week kicked off with an explosive Science assembly involving red cabbage water, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. We then explored the questions ‘What is Science?’ and ‘What is a Scientist?’  and looked at how Science was relevant to the children, their lives and their futures.

Children in all classes then participated in daily, practical Science activities where they practiced many Scientific skills including: questioning, predicting, observing closely, discussing what we observed and explaining what we had found.

We were very grateful for the grant which we received which enabled us to have a really fun week whilst exploring lots of Science learning!
